Watch Micromax Asia Cup T20 Qualifier on YuppTV

The 2016 Asia Cup T20 cricket is going to begin later this month and it promises to provide some enthralling cricketing action for the fans all over the globe. Bangladesh is set to host this mega event which will be keenly contested among the top five Asian teams. India, Bangladesh, Pakistan and Sri Lanka will be joined by one other associate nation who will have to come through the qualifier. The Asia Cup 2016 qualifier is scheduled to be played from 19th to 22nd February. Afghanistan, the United Arab Emirates, Hong Kong and Oman will take part in this qualifying event as they look to seize the opportunity & grab that elusive remaining spot in the main event.

The qualifying event is going to be played out in a round robin format with each team playing against every other team exactly once. All the matches will be held in the Khan Saheb Osman Ali Stadium at Fatullah. The action kicks off with the Afghanistan vs United Arab Emirates clash on the 19th of February.

The Afghan squad which is lead by Asghar Stanikzai is going to be the favourites to win this event. Their batting can be destructive with the likes of Mohammad Sehzad and Mohammad Nabi in their ranks. The likes of Shapoor Zadran & Dollar Zadran will provide the edge in the pace department. The Hong Kong team lead by Tanwir Afzal will also look to make their presence felt. They will depend heavily on their talented 21 year old batsman Mark Chapman. A united, all round effort with the bat, ball and in the field is what can take them through to the main stage. Oman who had a fairytale run in last year's ICC World T20 qualifiers managing to surprise Afghanistan on the way will try to replicate their efforts. The team mainly consists of Indian & Pakistani expatriates and is lead by Sultan Ahmed. The UAE team will go into this event with a point to prove after a string of disappointing performances in recent times. The charismatic all-rounder Amjad Javed will be the captain of the team and they will bank on their experienced players to get them over the line.

The T20 format is always exciting and you can watch the Asia Cup on YuppTV. So buckle up, get ready and watch the Asia Cup 2016 live.
